Stimm-Skulpturen und Kammertonkammer

english below

The research work about the place of the Extended Voice in Performance Art has been taking me further into the sphere of fine art for some time now. Some of my vocal actions I call vocal sculptures. Similar to the tradition of sound sculpture, I try to use my voice to create a moving acoustic object that exists for a certain time and interacts with the place where I am and where my voice moves. The voice sculpture, as I understand it, is a live situation with the person(s) acting vocally. But it is still a form of Performance Art. At the same time, the dimension of the sculptural opens up new possibilities of perception, interpretation and reaction to the vocal action or sculpture. The listening observation of a sculpture is a different aesthetic process than the visit to a performance. There are other rules and other forms of freedom.

Both a part of my Dao Series and the work on the Slow Rabbit (together with the ensemble KörperSchafftKlang) has a sculptural character.

In the vocal intervention Kammertonkammer on June 10, 2018, in Dorissa Lem's studio, I was decidedly concerned with the construction of a vocal sculpture. More about this on my website and on the website of the artist.
